Network security encompasses a very large area.  It includes both physical and logical access to resources on your network. 

Network security is not something that just "happens".  It has to be planned for and carefully implemented.

Networks need to be secured from attacks from the outside, leaks from the inside and from compromise due to unauthorized equipment which may expose your network to attack either by design or by carelessness.
